Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo lined up for 2013 racing season

Lamborghini is easily one of the most desirable supercars in the hire market, but not every Lambo is within reach of the average consumer. The iconic Italian marque has just announced that the 2013 European racing season will be lit up with the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, which includes numerous innovations on the basic Gallardo road model, which of course is available to motorheads with deep pockets (see Lamborghini hire).

Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, chose the final race of the 2012 season in Los Arcos, Navarra to announce the introduction of the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, which will replace the retired Blancpain Supertrofeo that performed so creditably for Lamborghini for the past three seasons.   The chassis and the technical platform of the current Gallardo continue to form the basis for the new model. Moreover, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo comes stocked with some ingenious adaptations, not least an adjustable rear wing in ten different positions – improving aerodynamic efficiency by 120 percent – and increased braking performance. Through improved cooling of the front brake discs, the thermal load has also been reduced by 50 percent.

Lamborghini promised its Super Trofeo race cars would be some of the most efficient in international competition: “We believe that it is important that the vehicle is always developing, although we also want to ensure that the Super Trofeo racing series remains attractive for our drivers, and thus for our customers,” said Maurizio Reggiani. This year marked the release into Asia of the Super Trofeo, which was met with great enthusiasm. Next year, Automobili Lamborghini celebrates its 50th anniversary and is clearly hoping for great things for the coming racing season. With the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo, the foundation has been laid for a momentous Golden Jubilee.
