Ford presents all-new Ford Transit at IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover

As part of their Major Product Acceleration in Europe, Ford presents the all-new Ford Transit at IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany, from 20th till 27th September 2012. The new Ford Transit was developed under the One Ford product strategy and will go on sale in six continents, including Europe, North America and other key worldwide markets in late-2013. Based on a state-of-the-art global platform, the new Ford Transit was engineered to underpin the next generation of Ford commercial vans worldwide. Within two years, Ford plans a complete redesign of its commercial vehicle range for Europe.

Ford Transit IAA-exteriorThe van replaces the heavier 2-tonne Transit models in Europe and worldwide markets and offers a huge range of body styles and derivatives, i.e. Van, Double Cab-in-Van, Kombi, Kombi Van and Bus, so that all customer requirements can be satisfied. Compared to the outgoing Ford Tranist, load volume has been increased by around 10 percent. The largest “Jumbo” is now capable to swallow a massive 15.1 m³ SAE of cargo. In Europe, the Ford Transit is powered by the latest 2.2-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel with a choice of three power ratings, ranging between 100 and 155 PS.

The all-new interior incorporates a range of smart stowage solutions and a stylish and functional instrument panel. Compared to its predecessor, the cabin is more spacious with increased shoulder room, head clearance and visibility. Serial and optional convenience features and driver assistance technologies include the Ford SYNC voice-activated, in-car connectivity system, Adaptive Cruise Control and a rear view camera.
